There will be 2 sessions offered for the January 3, 2025 Career Immersion Day:
The morning session will be from 8:00am-12:00pm and is focused on Peri-Operative career fields (careers working with patients before, during, and after surgery).
The afternoon session will be from 1:00pm-5:00pm and is focused on Acute Care career fields (variety of healthcare careers - Ex: Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, etc.).
The sign-up form will accept submissions until December 16, 2024.
Students will only be eligible to select 1 session.
Students will receive notification if they are selected by December 20, 2024 from SRHS.
If not selected, students will receive notification of upcoming Career Immersion Days. Additional sessions will be offered by SRHS during Spring Break.
Career Immersion Days were created to expand the number of outreach opportunities to students as they explore healthcare careers to build the pipeline of future healthcare workers. These days will follow a group model versus individual shadowing opportunities to allow for a more meaningful experience and to accommodate more students.
This weekend the Rebel Wrestlers traveled all over the place. Varsity traveled to Eastside for one of the toughest tournaments in the south east, The Southern Slam Invitational, JV traveled to the West Oak Invitational, and the Girls traveled to Woodruff for the Wolverine Round Robin Tournament.

We are missing Coach Holcombe this morning and dedicate this 5K in memory of her father, John Holcombe. Diddy always supported Coach so he always supported FIGHT Club!

Due to some roads being closed for Christmas parades and tree lighting ceremonies in the Duncan and Lyman downtown areas, there will be a few changes in the way teams and spectators will need to access the parking lot at Byrnes HS on Friday, Dec 6, 2024.
Highway 290 from downtown Duncan to Byrnes HS will be closed.
Groce Rd. / Danzler Rd. in Lyman will be closed in front of the Lyman United Methodist Church.
Teams and Spectators will need to bypass these areas and approach Byrnes HS from either:
From the I-85 / Hwy. 290 (E. Main Street) direction.
Or
From South Danzler Rd / State Rd S-42-62 / Rogers Bridge Rd. / Hwy. 101

Team Buses will enter Perimeter Road (beside the baseball field) off of Danzler Rd. Team buses will park in the loop in front of the Main gym next to the portables. Refer to attached map.
Spectators
Spectators will enter Perimeter Road (beside the baseball field) off of Danzler Rd and park in the main parking lot past the main gym / loop area. Refer to attached map. The entrance/exit to this parking lot will be closed during the parade but opened up after the conclusion of the Duncan parade.
All spectators must enter the gym through the main entrance and the evolve security scanning system.
Overflow parking will be in the stadium parking lot and across the street from the fine arts center.
